On the afternoon of 11 October 2026 I was helping a friend in her garden in Watton. During a coffee break I noticed a large bug in her conservatory, a species which looked familiar as I had one in my conservatory in August 2025. This was a Western Conifer Seed Bug, a very recent arrival in Britain with the first identified in 2007. The Western Conifer Seed Bug is native to North America.
