Watton (Notes from Garden) 3 November 2026

A day of showers and some prolonged sunny spells. Moderate NE wind.

Some local birding from the garden today due to work. Our mixed native hedgerow at the garden boundary held typical and expected species including 6+ Blue Tits, 2 Great Tits, 6+ Blackbirds, 2 Dunnock.
I was hoping for winter Thrushes in the hedgerow and within a short time two Redwings were present, one was partially concealed within the branches, but I managed to catch a view of the birds head, I saw the distinctive buff supercillium, a striking feature on this beautiful Thrush.

With light fading fast towards dusk I looked up when directly overhead 3 Blackbirds were seen at height flying off in a SW heading.
