Hockham, Norfolk 21st May

A morning walk around a clearing in the forest this morning produced a pair of Spotted Flycatchers in mature Oak woodland close to the clearing. A rare bird now sadly.

The Breckland Birder is the personal blog of Paul Newport of Watton, Norfolk.: I have been a birder for most of my life and my main interest is bird migration. MY CODE: I have been a birder for most of my life and I have always pursued my passion without the need for straying from public rights of way. I will not enter private land unless invited. I write this as I have posted articles regarding irresponsible birding, also it appears that on one occasion, a birder was challenged about being on private land, he/she stated that I have said entering the site in question was OK, I have never indicated to anybody that this was acceptable. Therefore, I would like to highlight here that I always pursue my passion from public rights of way and would expect others to do the same.
